It’s Good to Be A Boy is a follow up to the book It’s Good to Be A Girl. This Christian picture book by Champ Thornton helps readers understand that gender is a good gift from God. This book specifically focuses on why it’s good to be a male and draws on examples of faithful Christian men from the Bible and history. I appreciate that it doesn’t add to what Scripture says regarding what it means to be male.

This book encourages boys to use their strength to serve others just like Jesus did. There are a few rhymes throughout on why it’s good to be a boy. The book faithfully proclaims the gospel message, and the illustrations are lovely, making this a book kids will want to read repeatedly. While the book is about being a boy, it is one that girls will enjoy, too!
