The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, i have a beautiful inheritance.
psalm 16:6

Hi Friends!

I’m Lauren and I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a thirty-something wife and mama who moved from a small California town to Austin, Texas.

For years I had hoped and prayed to be a wife and a mom and in 2015 the Lord kindly allowed me to enter those roles. My husband Derek and I were married in a church overlooking the ocean on March 21, 2015 (and informally married in Austin, Texas on October 23, 2015 – it’s a long story.) I became pregnant that July and our daughter Adalyne Rose was born on March 22, 2016 (Yep, only one day after our first anniversary!). Our family grew with the addition of sweet baby Ava who arrived on February 8, 2019.

Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I worked in education for about nine and a half years in various capacities. I believe this further fueled my love for all things book related which had been developed early in my childhood with frequent trips to our local library. In my free time I enjoy doing anything with my husband – he ALWAYS makes me laugh. My favorite hobbies are reading, writing, photography, enjoying a good cup of cold brew coffee, catching up on Fixer Upper, and did I mention reading? ( I’m a total nerd at heart!)

Most importantly, I love Jesus more than life itself and am so thankful for how He not only came to earth to live as a human to be the perfect sacrifice for my sins but died for me so that I might live with Him in eternity and have a right relationship with God.

Psalm 16:5-6 says,

“The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.

The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, indeed I have a beautiful inheritance.”

It is this beautiful inheritance (Christ Himself) that has inspired me to write about this life He has given me.

This blog, birthed in 2010 out of my love for writing, is my living journal of sorts. Here I share about how Christ is at work in me, and how living for Him has impacted various areas of my life. My aim is that readers would see a bit of what it looks like to live out Biblical Christianity and as a result would behold the beauty of Jesus.

I pray that as you read about my life and how Christ is working in me and my family, you will be encouraged to become more like Christ or come to know Him.

“Only one life ‘t will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”
