I received False Love compliments of New Growth Press in exchange for my honest review.
False Love by Brad Hambrick is the companion book to True Betrayal. While True Betrayal is intended to serve a spouse who has been betrayed in a marriage, False Love was written to serve one who has betrayed their spouse by porn use and/or adultery. With tenderness, Hambrick gently guides those who are dealing with the aftermath of their actions by pointing them to their true identity in Christ.

The book begins with an encouragement that confession of sexual sin, while awkward, is actually a good thing. It also acknowledges that those wishing to practice repentance from sexual sin must repent of patterns of deceit and begin practicing honesty. To help with this, there is a whole section of the book dedicated to repentance.
I love how comprehensive this book is and how it emphasizes the need for growth and change within community, and with dependence on God and the help He provides. False Love teaches readers how to take sin seriously and also points them toward the hope of redemption. It doesn’t just guide readers through repenting of sinful patterns, it helps them see that God delights to use even broken parts of our lives for His glory and our good. This book is a wonderful, helpful tool for sanctification, and I highly recommend it.
