Elisabeth Elliot is a lovely picture book dedicated to the life and legacy of Elisabeth Elliot, and it’s one of the latest additions to the Do Great Things for God series. The book is written by Elisabeth’s biographer, Ellen Vaughn, and she does an excellent job of sharing Elisabeth’s story.
Elisabeth lived a life marked by radical obedience, and while her story is not prescriptive, I’m thankful it has been recorded in this picture book so children can be encouraged to consider what radical obedience Christ might be calling them to. I like how frequently the book mentions Jesus and includes one of Elisabeth’s favorite Bible verses.
The book concludes with questions to prompt further discussion, a timeline of the events of Elisabeth’s life, and a link to free resources for children that go along with the book. We enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
