I Have A Confession to Make

My name is Lauren and I’m a sinner. Sometimes sin is the big white elephant in the room. There are good and bad aspects to this. It’s good in the sense that it is not something we are proud of. It’s bad in the sense that we want to hide it. Sometimes as my we want to hide because we’re afraid of what our peers might think, which is a shame because they’re sinners too. When we sin, we need to make repentance and seeking Christ’s forgiveness our first priority. In order to help ourselves see that we need Christ, we need to have people hold us accountable. Well friends, since you happen to be people you have my full permission to hold me accountable, especially in the area of gossip. I know most people don’t consider gossip to be that “big” of a deal, but when we violate the standards of a perfectly holy God it’s a very big deal. Psalm 141:3-4 says, “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! Do no let my heart incline to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity, and let me not eat of their delicacies,” (ESV).These are verses that I will memorize and will be praying through. I need to be more intentional and proactive in my battle with sin and doing so can only be accomplished through Christ. Friends, my heart is UGLY. All this made me think about why I love Christ and why He loves me and I realized that He loves me because He chooses to. Christ wants to love me! Because He loves me and chose to save me, I am no longer bound by my sin. He paid for all my past, present and future sin on the cross! Romans 8:1 tells us, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (ESV). I still sin and still condemn myself but the good news is that Jesus doesn’t condemn me. He loves me enough to take something so ugly as my sin to make me depend on Him more which in turn is making me more like Him. Kids, love is a beautiful thing. . .
Love,
Lolo
