Influenster Kanzi Apples VoxBox Review

I received the products mentioned compliments of Influenster for testing purposes.

Participating in Influenster’s Kanzi Apples VoxBox campaign was a delight. I had no idea I had been selected so receiving two Kanzi apples in the mail was a pleasant surprise. The card I received in my VoxBox explained that Kanzi apples are both tart and sweet making them perfect for various types of dishes. I began making this apple pie recipe last Thanksgiving and have worked really hard on getting the recipe for the pie and the crust just right so I figured that my apples would be best used in making a pie (if you make this pie, I highly recommend using the crust recipe from this cookbook).

While prepping my apples for the pie, I tried a slice to see what it would be like to have the apple as a snack. Although my sense of taste and smell are distorted from having covid earlier this year, I enjoyed what I could taste of the apple. Once the pie was done, I tried some. I struggled to taste it so I asked my parents and husband to be my taste testers and they more than willingly obliged. My parents loved the pie so much that when they returned home, my dad asked for the recipe and wanted to know what apples I used in it. My husband said that from now on, he only wants pie with Kanzi apples. Apple pie is traditionally made with Granny Smith apples which tend to be very tart but the Kanzi apples add a layer of sweetness without making the pie too sweet.

I’m really thankful for the opporutnity to have tested out Kanzi apples. They previously were not on my radar but thanks to this campaign, they will be a regular grocery staple for our family!
