Did anyone else rejoice last week when Aldi announced a partnership with Instacart? I may or may not have shared the announcement on Facebook in which the only remark I made included praise hand emojis. When we lived in California, I loved having Aldi close by because I feel that when we shop there, we get so much more for our money compared to other stores. I was also super excited when I learned that Instacart was available in our area – to me, it felt like a win-win. My knowledge of Instacart came into existence about 2 years ago when we first lived in Austin. Although there wasn’t a local Aldi store at the time, Instacart was still available for many of the other grocery stores.

Initially, I was deterred from Instacart because I felt that it was more about convenience than practicality. Our little family was on a tight budget so it just made more sense for me to head to the store weekly, my infant in tow. However, when I found a coupon for $15 off a $35 order plus free delivery, I had to give Instacart a try and I’m so glad I did. Overall, I was very pleased with my Instacart experience and want to share five reasons why I enjoy using Instacart.

1. It’s Convenient – I understand that this option may not be reasonable for everyone. However, with a toddler and another baby on the way, I will be heavily relying on Instacart once baby #2 is born. Shopping with just my toddler is stressful and takes up so much more time than it needs to. Just the thought of taking a newborn and toddler with me to accomplish a task that should only take about 30 minutes really stresses me out. I’m thankful Instacart is able to help take this task off my plate!

2. It’s A Time Saver – You’ve probably heard the old adage, “Time is money.” I’m not sure that this is always true but as I’m preparing to enter a busy season, I’ve begun to realize and appreciate the value of time. I LOVE that Instacart allows me to shop on my own time. I can add items to my cart any hour of the day, any day of the week. For me, this eliminates the frustration of forgetting to purchase certain items. Since I can shop during distraction free times, I don’t have to worry about whether or not I remembered everything on my list (insert praise hand emojis here!).

3. It’s Flexible – As if the reasons previously mentioned weren’t enough to garner interest in Instacart, let the various membership options get you excited! Order minimums for Instacart begin at $10 and delivery prices vary depending on the time you request your delivery. However, the delivery fee can be avoided by joining Instacart Express which offers two plans. The first option is unlimited delivery year-round for $149 or you can choose the monthly option which is $14.99/month. These options are super reasonable especially since Instacart shoppers will go to multiple stores for you! An additional benefit of Instacart Express is that you can save even more by having your groceries delivered during non-peak hours. If you’re interested in checking out Instacart Express, you can sign up for a FREE 14 day trial!

4. Exceptional Customer Service – If there were an Olympic gold medal for fast shopping, it is my firm belief that Instacart shoppers would be the top contenders. What has really made my experiences with Instacart impressionable is that my shoppers are always faithful to communicate with me. They let me know when they begin shopping, they text me to inquire about substitutes if a product I requested in unavailable, and they let me know once they leave the store and are heading my way. As a customer, I feel that Instacart really values my time as I’m not left waiting and wondering when my groceries will arrive. Although it’s optional, I highly recommend tipping your shopper which can be completed conveniently through the app.

5. Referral Program – There aren’t too many services that will pay you to talk about them but Instacart is one that does. With the referral program, you have the option to share about Instacart via social media sites, email, or anywhere you can post your personal link. With the referral program, participants are able to receive $10 for each of the first five people they refer who sign up and complete an order.

I’m thankful for the ways Instacart has redeemed my time, a most valuable commodity. As I prepare to become a mom of two, I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to trade shopping time for time snuggling with my babies.

What would you do if you had extra time?
