Seek and Find Book Review

Seek and Find: New Testament Bible Stories by Sarah Parker is a fun resource for helping children learn the Bible. The book contains eight pages of inviting illustrations with lists of items for children to look for. In a sense, this is a biblical version of Where’s Waldo? for younger generations. My five year old really enjoyed looking through the book and finding the items. I like that the book includes paraphrases of New Testament Bible stories along with references to where the stories can be found in Scripture.

Parents may need to guide younger readers as they search for the items because not every item is identical. For example, in the first story, the list includes four visiting shepherds and contains an image with just one shepherd. When I initially scanned through the book, I was a bit confused because I couldn’t find four identical shepherds. I then realized that there were four in the illustration, they just didn’t look exactly the same. Other items, like three shepherd’s crooks, were exactly the same so it can be slightly confusing. This doesn’t change the enjoyment we experienced while reading Seek and Find but it’s something to consider especially if you have younger readers.

Overall, we really enjoyed spending time reading through the Bible story paraphrases included in the book and searching for the items on each page. We can’t wait to purchase Seek and Find: Old Testament Bible Stories and look forward to reading more in this series in the future.

I received Seek and Find: New Testament Bible Stories compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
